The Sound of the People
My Campaign Values
Let's be honest. There's always room to grow. As mayor, I will be clear and upfront about the city’s objectives to ensure your relationship with the city isn't a one-sided one. No closed-door meetings. No hidden agendas. Just service you can trust.
During unprecedented events such as the Covid-19 pandemic, communication from local leadership is critical. When it comes to your health and safety, you should never be left in the dark concerning next steps. As mayor, I will ensure communication is at the forefront of everything we do, so you have the information you need, when you need it.
As mayor, I will establish a social media presence and update the municipal website to keep you up-to-date and engaged with the Mayor’s office. Speaking of the Mayor's office, I will also create an open-door policy with weekly hours to hear your ideas and concerns directly. Come on in. Have a seat.
Support Small Business
Work with leadership to attract small, locally-owned businesses to our city
Streamline the business licensing and code inspection process to make it easier for entrepreneurs to offer something fresh and different to our city
Provide active support for these small businesses' continued success
Make Music Come Alive
The Muscle Shoals Sound is one of the most recognized, unique sounds in the world. So why aren't we taking ownership of our city’s unique place in the history of American music? As mayor, I will establish a city-wide branding campaign so residents and visitors not only hear of the history of the Muscle Shoals Sound, but they feel it alive and well today.
I will also Build upon the relationships forged through my career working with business community to recruit businesses and event venues that enhance our vibrant musical heritage.
Sustainability for Future Generations
Establish a curbside pick-up recycling program to reduce waste without the hassle of hauling your items to public receptacles
Promote a city-wide clean-up day to engage citizens in doing their part for a cleaner, greener Muscle Shoals
Partner with Keep the Shoals Beautiful and Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful to promote anti-litter campaigns
Smart Infrastructure Improvements
Enhance existing efforts by city departments to reduce flooding in low-plane areas, particularly in neighborhoods at-risk for future flooding.
Ensure city employees have the tools they need to be successful
Work with Muscle Shoals City Schools, Northwest-Shoals Community College, and the University of North Alabama to ensure graduating students have viable, well-paying career options
Advocate for continued funding of Essential Air Services at Northwest Alabama Regional Airport
Serve as a key member of the Shoals Industrial Development Committee (SIDC) to broaden the definition of economic development and shore up funds for non-traditional projects needed to make our city thrive
Listen to Your Ideas
The Sound of the People campaign isn't complete without your voice! What do you want to see expanded or changed in our city? Let's discuss how we can add your soundtrack of ideas to the playlist.
